Get ready to see a side of Newcastle you’ve never seen before with an iconic start line, unbeatable city views, and the ultimate finish line feeling. The 10k city centre route showcases some of the most legendary sights in Newcastle. We’ll have music and charity cheer points along the route, plenty of spectators cheering your name, and a finish line DJ to bring the party vibes to the Town Moor. And don’t forget: there’s also some brilliant bling and an exclusive finisher t-shirt.
The AJ Bell Great North 5k is the curtain-raiser event for the North East’s biggest weekend of sport: the AJ Bell Great North Run. It’s a fun, flat 5k dash around Newcastle and Gateshead’s vibrant Quayside and, like all Great Runs, it’s packed with phenomenal local support and entertainment. As well as iconic Tyneside views, an electric atmosphere, and an incredible feeling of achievement, runners will also find a medal and an exclusive finisher t-shirt at the finish line.

The Active Northumberland Kielder Marathon route follows an almost entirely off-road course around northern Europe’s largest man-made lake, Kielder Water, in Northumberland.
Britain’s Most Beautiful Marathon is the finale to a weekend of events, starting with the 10K & Gravel Duathlon on Saturday, and followed by the Kielder Half Marathon and Junior races on Sunday. It all adds up to an electric atmosphere and a fabulous weekend in this beautiful part of the country.

We’re looking for individuals, teams, and organisations to step up, take on the challenge, and help us raise vital funds.
