2027 TCS London Marathon

Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions outline what you can expect from us and what we ask of you in return if you’re offered the charity space.

Registration

• You agree to pay a £100 non-refundable registration fee within 7 days of being offered a place. If the fee isn’t received by day 10, we reserve the right to offer your place to another applicant unless agreed otherwise in writing.

• You understand that your place cannot be transferred to another person or event.

• You understand this registration fee is non-refundable and does not count toward your fundraising target.

• You understand that TCS London Marathon Events have their own terms and conditions that you will need to agree to when registering (if successful in receiving a ballot place or charity place with 4Louis).

• You will also be required to register your details directly with TCS London Marathon Events. Instructions and deadlines will be shared with you by our team. If you miss the deadline, you will not be able to take part in the event.

• You understand that in order to take part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon, you must also register with the London Marathon Events Ltd. Failure to complete the event organisers’ registration by any applicable deadline will mean you are unable to participate in the event.

• You must collect your race pack in person during the official London Marathon collection period. Details will be published by the event organisers.

Fundraising

• You commit to raising a minimum sponsorship of £2,000 (excluding Gift Aid) and agree to send all sponsorship money to 4Louis no later than six weeks after the event.

• You agree to raise at least 50% of the minimum sponsorship (£1,000) by 31 January 2027. Failure to do so may result in your place being withdrawn. Funds raised to that point will be treated as donations unless sponsors contact us for a refund.

• By accepting a charity place, you understand that 4Louis has the right (in its absolute discretion) to withdraw your place at any time if it considers that you are not committed to raising the pledged sponsorship or if you fail to comply with agreed obligations.

• If you host any independent fundraising activities (e.g. a bake sale or quiz night), you do so in your own name and at your own risk. Please make it clear that the event is “in aid of 4Louis.” Contact us if you’d like to use our “in aid of” logo.

• If you do not meet the £2,000 target within that time, you agree to personally make up the shortfall no later than ten weeks post-event.

• All fundraising must be carried out in line with legal guidelines and our fundraising guidance, as found in your Fundraising Pack.

General

• You agree to run in 4Louis branded clothing unless otherwise agreed by our Events team.

• You confirm that you will be at least 18 years old on race day (Sunday, 26 April 2027).

• You accept that you are entering the event at your own risk.

• You confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, you are fit and medically able to take part in the marathon.

• If your circumstances change and you’re unable to take part, please let us know as early as possible so we can potentially reallocate your place.

• 4Louis accepts no liability for any injury, loss or damage sustained during your participation in the event, except for liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Deferrals

We completely understand that things may not always go to plan. If you are unable to take part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon, please contact events@4louis.co.uk as soon as possible to discuss.

Photography and Media

• You understand that photos, quotes, and footage from the event may be used in 4Louis’ marketing, media, and promotional materials.

Code of Conduct and Right to Remove

4Louis is committed to delivering a safe, inclusive and respectful event for our participant, staff, volunteers and spectators. You will be expected to behave in an appropriate and responsible manner at all times in connection with the Event, including before, during and after participation.

4Louis reserves the right, at it’s absolute discretion (acting reasonably), to refuse entry to or remove you as a participant using a 4Louis London Marathon space without liability were, you, the participant (although not limited to);

• Engages in any behaviour that is abusive, threatening, or offensive to others

• Uses or promotes racist, discriminatory, or hateful language or conduct

• Displays or promotes extremist, offensive or divisive materials, messaging or views

• Participates in, encourages, or is otherwise involved in disorderly conduct, public disturbance, or violence (including riots or similar activity)

• Acts in a manner which may, in the reasonable opinion of the Event Organiser, bring the Event into disrepute or adversely affect the safety, enjoyment or experience of others

Social Media and Public Conduct

You as a 4Louis participant must not, post, share, or otherwise publish any content (including on social media platforms) that:

• Is abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or offensive

• Promotes hatred, intolerance, or extremist views

• Could reasonably be considered to damage the reputation of the Event, its organisers, partners, participants or associated charities

• Misrepresents the Event or the participant’s involvement in it

• 4Louis reserves the right to take action under this clause in respect of online conduct where it is reasonably considered to be connected to the Event or likely to impact its reputation or participants.

If you are removed as a participant or refused participation on the day, under this clause:

• The participant may be disqualified and required to leave the Event route and/or venues immediately

• No refund, deferral or transfer will be provided

• The Event Organiser reserves the right to refuse the participant entry to future events
